Dr. Dawn Hennessey is a therapist, social entrepreneur, speaker, and the Founder and Executive Director of Faith Forward and Angel Arms Ministries. With more than two decades of experience in counseling and nonprofit development, she specializes in addiction, marriage and family dynamics, mental health, trauma, and crisis intervention.

Dawn holds a doctorate in Counseling Ministries and is currently completing advanced doctoral studies in traumatology, along with a PhD. She also holds multiple master’s degrees in counseling and human services. Her academic background, combined with nearly 30 years of hands-on experience, uniquely equips her to work with individuals, families, and communities impacted by trauma, substance use, and complex life challenges.

An active speaker, trainer, and community leader, Dawn has extensive experience building and leading nonprofit organizations, managing crises, and engaging communities in meaningful, sustainable change. She has been recognized with numerous leadership awards and has served as a consultant and expert witness for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Dawn has also had the honor of presenting to both the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the Pennsylvania Senate.

Her work and story have been featured on multiple media platforms, including CBN and Cornerstone Television. Grounded deeply in her faith, Dawn is passionate about spreading hope, healing, and restoration through her ministry and community initiatives. She finds her greatest joy in her marriage to her husband, Rick, and in raising their five children.
